This medication is used to treat a serious possibly lifethreatening type of fast heartbeat called sustained ventricular tachycardia It is also used to treat certain fastirregular heartbeats atrial fibrillationflutter in patients with severe symptoms such as weakness and shortness of breath Sotalol helps to lessen these symptoms It slows the heart rate and helps the heart to beat more normally and regularly This medication is both a beta blocker and an antiarrhythmic

Este medicamento se usa para tratar un tipo grave potencialmente mortal del ritmo cardaco acelerado llamada taquicardia ventricular sostenida Tambin se utiliza para tratar ciertos ritmos cardacos rpidos  irregulares fibrilacin auricular  aleteo auricular en pacientes con sntomas graves tales como debilidad y falta de aliento Sotalol ayuda a disminuir estos sntomas Se ralentiza el ritmo cardaco y ayuda a que el corazn lata ms normal y regular Este medicamento es a la vez un bloqueador beta y un antiarrtmico
